Like many old collectors, I rediscovered my old collection during the pandemic. Back in the 1990s we were all going to buy houses by cashing in our Todd Van Poppel rookie cards once he hit Cooperstown.
Well, little did we know how oversaturated the market was, and how common all those cards were. So despite other teenage plans, I ended up not becoming rich from my baseball card collection and learned to enjoy it as it is. Memories of riding my bike to the baseball card shops, ripping packs and loving the hobby and the sport.
Fast forward a few years and with the resurgence in the hobby I got back into buying and selling online, and sharing my collection with other collectors on Instagram. That eventually led to setting up a booth a some local card shows too.
I’m still Not Rich from Baseball Cards, but I am enjoying the hobby and enjoying the connections I’ve made with other collectors and vendors.
I hope to see you in person at a show in the Windsor, ON / S.W. Ontario area or online.
